This program fill allow you to setup your COM and LPT ports. It
does not change the actual hardware addresses (you must set switches
on your hardware cards to do that), it changes the values detected
by DOS. It is ideal for fixing the 'missing COM 3' problem. Often
when one has COM 1 and COM 2, the mouse goes on COM 1 so when a
modem is bought, it must go onto "COM 4". Programs like
Windows then can't use COM 4 because there is no COM 3.
This program will allow you to fix this problem by creating a
fake COM 3 port.
This program comes with all documentation in .NG format, one of the
most popular formats available. This will allow you to popup help
at any time using your favorite NG engine.
You will need one of the following programs to view the documentation
and I suggest you get a copy if you don't already have one because this
format is popular and you may very well receive more documentation in
this format.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Program Name (File Name)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
- The Norton Guides (NG)
- Expert Help (EH or EHDEMO)
- MSI Guides (MSIGUIDE)
- The Pascal Norton Guides Clone (NG_CLONE)
- The Norton Guides Viewer For Windows (WNG)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The latter 4 on the list are shareware or freeware and should be
available at your nearest FTP site or BBS. In fact, there should
be one at the same place you found this file.
